Located as the center structure in Woodburn Circle, the very impressive Woodburn Hall is the heart of West Virginia University’s campus. It was first named New Hall, then in 1878 changed to Woodburn Hall. Woodburn means “a streamlet in a shady glen” which described the surrounding area.
