Campus Prints of Mary Washington College – University – Fredericksburg, Virginia
Designed by architect Charles Robinson, construction began in 1909, on what is now known as Monroe Hall. It is one of the first two buildings that comprised the campus, known as the State Normal & Industrial School for Women. Monroe Hall, is to Mary Washington, what Burruss Hall is to Virginia Tech and the Rotunda to UVA. The building is the center for all student activities and has been used for everything except a dorm.
